We Know: How to Buy a Massage Chair
What is a massage chair?
Most massage chairs are recliners that double as massagers by using a built-in machine that when activated vibrates the
chair to provide a relaxing feeling over your whole body.
Massage Chair Buying Tips
When shopping for a massage chair, keep the following in mind:
- Motor durability. Check the warranty for how long the motor is guaranteed. If it needs replacing, what are
the costs involved-- including installation and availability?
- Ease of cleaning. Is the material stain-resistant? Can a stain resistant chemical be applied without damaging
the material? Can the chair's cover be removed for washing?
- Hypoallergenic. If you suffer from allergies, check the filling and covering material to see if it's
hypoallergenic.
- Level of comfort. Is the chair ergonomic to provide natural support, or curved to fit the shape of your back?
- Massage controls. Are they easy to access while sitting in the chair? Some models offer a handheld remote to
control the chair's massage features.
- Versatility. Can the massager be located in specific areas along your body such as lower back or legs? Are there
multiple massage types such as rolling or kneading?
